WHAT IS SKIN CARE?

Skin care is a range of practices that support skin integrity, enhance its appearance, and relieve skin conditions. These practices can include the use of topical agents such as creams, lotions, and serums, as well as various practices such as exfoliation, cleaning, and moisturising.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

IS THERE A PERFECT SKIN CARE ROUTINE FOR ALL?

The honest answer is no, there is no one-size-fits-all answer to having a sustainable skin care routine, as the ideal routine will depend on a person's individual skin type and needs.

However, there are a few basic steps that are recommended as part of a good skin care routine:

  • Cleansing: This step involves using a product to remove dirt, oil, and makeup from the skin. It is important to choose a cleanser that is appropriate for your skin type.

  • Toning: This step involves using a toner to balance the pH of the skin and remove any remaining traces of dirt and oil. Toning can be especially helpful for people with oily or acne-prone skin. (This step is optional, but it is recommended by most skin experts).

  • Exfoliating: This step involves using body scrubs to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. Exfoliating can help to unclog pores and improve the overall appearance of the skin (and even reduce the signs of ageing).

  • Treating: This step involves using a product to target specific skin concerns, such as acne or dark spots. This might include the use of a spot treatment or a serum with active ingredients.

  • Moisturising: This step involves using a moisturiser to hydrate and nourish the skin. It is important to choose a moisturiser that is appropriate for your skin type (our body cream is great for all skin types, especially sensitive skin).

  • Protecting: This step involves using a product with SPF to protect the skin from the damaging effects of the sun. It is important to use an SPF product every day, even on cloudy days.

It is also important to be consistent with your skin care routine and to use products that are appropriate for your skin type.  In addition, it is a good idea to consult with a dermatologist or skin care professional if you have any concerns about your skin or are unsure about which products to use.
